There is no limit to a person’s culinary imagination! Cooked, stewed and roasted vegetables are an excellent base for hundreds of side dishes. There are no special rules for the preparation, but there are characteristic ways to use certain vegetables. Zucchini, cucumbers and turnips, for example, are good for stuffing. But you can fill leeks and other vegetables – cheese, nuts, olives. And with the right approach, zucchini with cottage cheese becomes a delicious delicacy. To create a rich assortment of vegetables, you need to capture sometimes unexpected but harmonious combinations of vegetables with each other and the main additions: sauces, cheeses, nuts. Vegetable garnishes diversify the table perfectly, some dishes have a completely independent value.
A recipe according to which you can cook quick salted cucumbers in just a few hours. The finer you cut the cucumbers, the faster they are salted. However, I do not advise you to be too small. Better to keep the cucumbers with salt and spices for an hour or two longer.

For a cucumber recipe you need:

  • cucumbers (small, strong) – 5-6 pcs.
  • salt (coarse) – 2 tablespoons
  • garlic – 1-2 cloves
  • greens (dill, celery) – to taste.

To cook quick lightly salted cucumbers, you must first rinse them and then put them in a container of the appropriate size and pour cold water for several hours. Cut each cucumber lengthwise into 4-6 pieces, depending on size, and place in a container with a lid. If this is not the case, then – in an ordinary saucepan.

Sprinkle the cucumbers with salt.

Then add the garlic which is passed through a press and finely chopped fresh herbs. Young dill is perfect. Place the lid on the container and shake well to distribute the salt, herbs and garlic evenly. Let stand at room temperature for 20-30 minutes and refrigerate for at least 3 hours, preferably overnight. Serve quick-salted cucumbers with freshly cooked potatoes or any other dish of your choice. Have a nice meal!
