Mashed potatoes with carrots


Do you want to make mashed potatoes in a new way? Here is a simple recipe. Boil the peeled potatoes as usual, add the carrots fried with onions and mash in mashed potatoes. Surprisingly, in this version, mashed potatoes are good in taste. And there is more benefit from it, tk. You will replace some of the potatoes with carrots and onions. Stressful?

For a puree recipe you need:

  • potatoes – 500g
  • carrots – 2 pcs. (medium size)
  • onion – 1 pc.
  • milk – about 1/2 cup
  • salt to taste
  • ground black pepper – to taste
  • butter – 30g
  • vegetable oil for frying.

Puree recipe:

Peel a squash, grate it and pour in boiling salted water.

Wait until the water boils again, lower the heat, cover the pan and cook until the potatoes are tender.

Peel carrots and onions. Chop the carrots on a coarse grater. Finely chop the onion.

While the potatoes are boiling, heat vegetable oil in a deep frying pan and fry the onions with the carrots.

Let the vegetables cool a bit and puree in a blender.

Empty the boiled potatoes and make mashed potatoes. Add butter and milk as usual.

Add the vegetable mixture from a blender to mashed potatoes and mix well. Add salt and pepper to taste. Arrange the finished mashed potatoes with carrots on the plates while they are hot and serve as a dish with meat or fish. Have a nice meal!
